It has been a couple of weeks since my last Lake Texoma fishing report and with the warmer weather we have seen a few changes on the lake. Water temperature is 47-49 degrees, lake elevation is 616.19 and water is off color. We are mainly fishing west of the Highport marina, working ledges and humps in the 30-45 ft water.

It looks like Old Man Winter finally gave up the goat and it is about time. We?ve had some warmer weather the past few days and the fishing seems to be getting a little more consistent. It was a pleasure meeting so many people at the Dallas Boat Show but I?m glad to be back on the water fishing again. Falling water temperatures, due to the recent snow fall on Lake Texoma, has sent the bait into deep water in the river channels making it impossible to catch. Lake Texoma elevation is 617 (2 ft above normal) and I am marking 40-43? surface temperature. Luckily the lure fishing . . .

The last couple of weeks have been slow for me. I haven?t been able to bring home a good box of fish since the last artic blast blew through, with humbling totals of 10 fish or less on the few trips that have decided to fish. Thankfully on Saturday, with temperatures not rising above freezing, I was blessed with some feeding fish to give me a decent box of fish.

Its Christmas time again here on Lake Texoma and I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! We have been enjoying some very beautiful weather and some great fishing here on the big lake the last few days. The striper fishing remains good. We?re still catching lots of fish on every trip with the occasional big fish thrown in the mix. The fish are getting set into their winter patterns . . .
