Austin College Lecture Will Examine Johnny Appleseed by Austin College
SHERMAN, TEXAS—Austin College will host 1985 alumnus and history professor William Kerrigan presenting the address, “Johnny Appleseed: St. Francis or Steve Jobs?,” Friday, October 24, at 1:30 p.m. in Hoxie Thompson Auditorium of Sherman Hall. The lecture, sponsored by the ‘Roos Who Write Conference and the Austin College History Department, is free and open to the public.

Kerrigan, the Cole Distinguished Professor of American History at Muskingum College in Ohio, wrote the book Johnny Appleseed . . .

The Preston Trail Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) will meet at 6:00pm Thursday, October 16th at Georgetown Baptist Church in Pottsboro. Regent Lisa Lettie will conduct the session. Catered dinner begins at 5:00pm with a cost of $10.

Austin College Hosts Carl Antonowicz’s Art Exhibit, “Spotblacks on the Soul” by Austin College
SHERMAN, TEXAS—The Austin College Department of Art and Art History is hosting the drawing exhibition “Spotblack on the Soul” by Carl Antonowicz October 13 through November 21 in Ida Green Gallery of Ida Green Communication Center. The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The exhibit is free and open to the public. For more information, please call 903.813.2048.
