Austin College Presents Faculty Recital by Austin College
Sherman, Texas—The Austin College Department of Music will present a Faculty Recital Sunday, September 21, at 3 p.m. in Wynne Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.

The trio of Cathy Richardson, violin; Ricky Duhaime, clarinet; and John McGinn, piano, will perform a movement from a composition written by McGinn in 2013, specifically for this trio, as well as a movement of a suite by Darius Milhaud.

Wind, Brass, and Percussion Musicians Sought  by Austin College
SHERMAN, TEXAS—With the countdown to the Austin College 2014 Fall Term nearing the single digits, another season for the College’s concert band, the Austin College Wind Symphony, also is nearing. Director Robert Archer, adjunct instructor of music at Austin College, invites qualified brass, percussion, and wind musicians from the community, student body, and faculty to audition for membership. Preston Trail DAR holds American History Essay Contest by Preston Trail NSDAR
The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution announces its annual American History Essay Contest to celebrate America’s history. All fifth- through eighth-grade students in public, private, and parochial schools or those who are home-schooled are eligible to participate. Students may also independently submit essays directly to the judging committee.
