Austin College Hosts 5K Run November 1  by Austin College
SHERMAN, TEXAS—Austin College’s Kappa Gamma Chi sorority will hold its 24th annual 5K ’Roo Run and Joey Walk Saturday, November 1, with proceeds supporting "Women Rock!", a Sherman organization that provides education to encourage early breast cancer detection. Cost for the race is $15 per person or $10 each for a team of three or more. Participants receive a t-shirt and are included in a raffle after the run.

Local DAR Chapter Helps Veteran of WWII by Preston Trail NSDAR
Local WWII U.S. Army veteran, Dillard D. Graham of Sherman is the first recipient of financial assistance from Opening Doors for Disabled Veterans. Opening Doors is an assistance program offered by Preston Trail NSDAR to all disabled veterans in Grayson County. The program is designed to assist veterans with widening interior doorways to an accessible width of 36” allowing for a wheelchair or walker. Preston Trail NSDAR Participates in Local Fundraiser by Preston Trail NSDAR
The Annual Boot Scootin’ Ball was held at Cal Barker’s Bar–K-R Ranch in Pottsboro, Texas on October 4, 2014. Preston Trail DAR was represented by Planning and Preparation Chair Jennita Wingate, Silent Auction Chair Sara Park and Silent Auction Volunteer Lisa Lettie.

Preston Trail DAR is dedicated to its local community and the safety of its citizens. The daughters volunteered well over 1,000 hours towards this event.
