Austin College Hosts Lectures on Mesoamerica Origins  by Austin College
SHERMAN, TEXAS—The Austin College Center for Southwestern and Mexican Studies is hosting two lectures this week for its annual fall symposium, focusing this year on “Mesoamerica and Beyond: A Look at Origins and Lifeworlds” and examining ancient México, the Caribbean, and South America. Nikirk named Preston Trail DAR Scholarship Winner by Preston Trail NSDAR
The Preston Trail Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution held their awards banquet at Georgetown Baptist Church on May 15 and named Madeleine Nikirk as their 2014 scholarship award recipient in the amount of $1,500.

Nikirk plans to attend Rice University in the fall. She is sixth in her class of 339 at Sherman High School with a GPA of 4.18. She plans a career in computer science . . .
