North Texas Electric Auto Association Plans Presentation in Sherman

The North Texas Electric Auto Association will present a workshop on electric conversion of autos and lawn equipment on Saturday, April 18, at the Sherman Municipal grounds from 11:00 to 11:55 a.m. during the 2009 Earth Day Festival. Presenters are NTEAA officers John L. Brecher of Garland.and Paul R. Schaffer. In the workshop, Schaffer will use a board with the components of an electric auto on it. He shows all the required equipment to make a car work on full electric power. Brecher will make a general presentation on electric cars and how they may be used to commute, run errands, and any thing else requiring less than 50 miles per day.

John Brecher has been working with electric autos and electric aircraft for more than 10 years. He currently own three electric vehicles (EV's). He has worked for 43 years in Telecommunications, 7 years as an instructor and manager in FAA approved mechanic schools in Kansas City and Dallas.

Paul Schaffer?s interest in Electric Vehicles began in the early 90s and led to the formation of the North Texas Electric Auto Association. The electric vehicles he has owned include a 1974 Fiat X-19, a 1983 Jet Electra, an Auranthetic Motorcycle, an X-Treme X360, and a variety of 24 and 48 volt lawn mowers. He holds an Associates Degree in Electronics and a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from Bradley University, Peoria, IL.
