The Preston Trail Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) will meet at 6:00pm Thursday, March 20th at Georgetown Baptist Church in Pottsboro. Regent Lisa Lettie will conduct the session. Dinner begins at 5:00pm with a cost of $10.

Guest speaker will be Pamela Marshall of the Joanna Troutman Chapter in Magnolia Texas. She is the NSDAR National Magazine Chair and State Membership Chair. She will provide a lively presentation on our President Generals' Project: Celebrate America! The National Society of the DAR will celebrate its 125th anniversary at Continental Congress in 2015.
To celebrate the 125th anniversary of the DAR and to promote a renewed and unparalleled commitment to meaningful public service, it is time we "Celebrate America!" by recognizing our combined community service efforts.

Daughters serve within their local communities on behalf of many organizations and purposes that support the National Society's mission. The goal is to capture the magnitude of that service to demonstrate the DAR's widespread and significant impact in celebration of our American
heritage and way of life-so all will realize and appreciate the vibrancy and vitality of Today's DAR.
The purpose of Celebrate America! is to encourage members to "Celebrate America" by investing a million hours of community service during each of the three years of the Young Administration. And to demonstrate the positive volunteer opportunities associated with DAR membership to current and prospective members; to further engage Daughters in meaningful service work within the Society's mission areas; and to encourage members to discover the rewards that come from volunteerism.

Following the program, a business meeting will be held to discuss chapter affairs. Daughters will be collecting items for veterans at the Bonham VA Hospital. Donations will also be taken for the group's adopted US marine 2nd Liet. Bryan Green and his platoon also serving in Afghanistan.

Women ages 18 and older who are interested in learning about NSDAR are encourage to attend. Membership is open to any woman who can trace her lineage back to a family member who either fought in or gave aid to the American Revolution. Trained genealogist volunteers are available, free of charge, to assist in lineage research . For more information, call Lisa Lettie at 817-360-6830.
