The Preston Trail Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) will meet at 6:00pm Thursday, January 16th at Georgetown Baptist Church in Pottsboro. Regent Lisa Lettie will conduct the session. Dinner begins at 5:00pm with a cost of $10.

Guest speaker will be Kathy Hanlon, National Chair, National Defense Committee who will speak to us about U S National Defense.

The National Defense Committee was established in 1926 to
assist members in carrying out the patriotic, educational, and
historical objectives of the National Society and to promote an
enlightened public opinion. It has always advocated a strong
American military defense. The committee publishes material
in support of these positions.

Following the program, a business meeting will be held to discuss chapter affairs. Daughters will be collecting items for veterans at the Bonham VA Hospital. Donations will also be taken for the group's adopted US marines, Sgt, Angela Gonzalez and her platoon serving in Afghanistan and 2nd Liet. Bryan Green and his platoon also serving in Afghanistan.

Women ages 18 and older who are interested in learning about NSDAR are encourage to attend. Membership is open to any woman who can trace her lineage back to a family member who either fought in or gave aid to the American Revolution. Trained genealogist volunteers are available, free of charge, to assist in lineage research . For more information, call Lisa Lettie at 817-360-6830.
