The Austin College Music Department will present the annual Fall Chamber Music and Jazz Concert on November 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Wynne Chapel on the Austin College campus. Under the direction of Austin College Mosher Professor of Music Dr. Ricky Duhaime, the concert is free and open to the public.

The Austin College Chamber Orchestra, comprised of students, staff, and faculty, will begin the concert with a movement of a quadruple violin concerto by the Italian Baroque composer Antonio Vivaldi, featuring Austin College student soloists Edward Kim, Caitlin Caswell, Jordan Meredith, and Tal Kinser. The program continues with an original arrangement of a viola quintet by conductor and Professor of Music Ricky Duhaime of a Romanza by the 19th-Century German composer Georg Goltermann and a movement of a Serenade for strings by W.A. Mozart.

The second half of the concert will spotlight the Greater Texoma Jazz Ensemble, consisting of students, faculty, and community members from across northeastern Texas and southeastern Oklahoma, performing a variety of traditional and contemporary big band styles. Soloists with the Jazz Ensemble for the evening will include Chris Dickson, Phil Pitts, David Moore, Jesse Speer, Paul Onspaugh, Brianna Teel, and John Vietta. The concert also is the conclusion of touring programs for the Jazz Ensemble, which has performed at area high schools during the past weeks.

For any additional information, contact the Austin College Music Department at 903.813.2251.
