Theatricks' season opener, OLIVER! is cast and currently in rehearsals.
After two nights of hearing 80 individuals audition and one night of call-backs, Webster Crocker and his artistic team of directors, Sylvia Rivers, Vocal Instructor, Fred Freeman, Orchestra Conductor, and Amy Dean, Choreographer, have put together a talented cast of 45 adults and young people. Fifteen of them will be performing the first time for Theatricks.
Theatricks produced OLIVER!, in November, 1996 with a smaller cast and without production elements that are available now. The 2008 production involves a much larger cast and the addition of new production elements.
OLIVER! is one of the most beloved musicals, vividly bringing to life Dickens' timeless characters with its ever-popular story of the boy who asked for more. Winner of three Tony awards, OLIVER! is full of familiar toe-tapping songs including: Food Glorious Food; Where is Love?; Consider Yourself; You've Got to Pick a Pocket or Two; It's a Fine Life, and many more.
Joey Oliver will play the title role, supported by Katherine Ailshire as Nancy, Jeffery Hunter as Fagin, Blake Brown as Bill Sykes, Anna Nall as the Artful Dodger, Darius Thomas as Mr. Bumble, and Elise Hebert as the Widow Corney.
Other named characters include Taylor Garland as Bet, Dallas Fleck and Amber Clay as Mr. & Mrs. Sowerberry, Taylor Nall as Noah Claypole, Hannah Scott as Charlotte, Roger Gregory-Allen as Mr. Brownlow, Mark Beardsley as Dr. Grimwig, and Katy McGinness as Mrs. Bedwin.
The orphans/pickpockets are Anna McGowan, Martha Hayes, Davis Gregory-Allen, Joshua Bayless, Anna Stoecker, Luke Thomas, Hannah Bowers, Jesse Childress, Jessie Noblett, McKenzie and Morgan Baca, Brittani, Caleb, and Drew Crocker.
Townspeople/chorus are Tabitha McGinness, Shannon Hayes, Daren Thomas, Tina Ross, Christian McGowan, Sarah Davis, Dean, Alex, and Elizabeth Leanch, John Lonnevik, Theresa Littlefield, Amanda Brandt, and Alaina and Sarah Cox.
The production staff of OLIVER! includes Mickie Martin as Stage Manager along with her daughters, Leah, Rebecca, and Rachel; Cathy Sauls as the rehearsal pianist, Tammi Daubenspeck as Head Costumer. Lisa Miller will be designing lights. The cast and crew will rehearse during the next four weeks. OLIVER! will open September 5 and run through September 14, 2008.
